Tristar Gym coach Firas Zahabi recently went on an ‘Ask me Anything’ session, where he shared his thoughts on Conor McGregor and a possible rematch against Max Holloway. In a nutshell, Zahabi picked current featherweight champion to emerge victorious in the second fight.

I think Holloway has grown leaps and bounds since then. In my opinion, Holloway would outpunch him, outwork him. He would do very much what Diaz did, but more,” he said. “I think McGregor got away with a lot of stuff, like the leg kicks against Diaz, but I don’t think he’ll have that against Holloway.

Holloway has the same type of output as Diaz, the same kind of chin as Diaz. He’s more athletic than Diaz, he has more variety in his attacks, he has more kicking, kneeing and elbowing, and his chin is just phenomenal.

So I really think he would take it in the later rounds. I think the blueprint for beating McGregor is more well understood by the roster.

McGregor eventually got hold of these remarks which did not sit well with him, and issued quite an unpleasant response via a couple of tweets, one of which had already been deleted.

McGregor and Holloway first fought in August 2013, where “The Notorious” emerged victorious via decision. It was Holloway’s last taste of defeat, and had since gone on a 13-fight win streak that included five post-fight bonuses and two successful title defenses.

McGregor, meanwhile, went on a 7-2 run, incurring losses to Nate Diaz and Khabib Nurmagomedov, respectively.
