Isaac Chilemba is set to face Oleksandr Gvozdyk on the card as well.
The undercard for Sergey Kovalev’s clash with Andre Ward continues to take shape, as super lightweight prospect Maurice Hooker is set to take on former lightweight champion Darleys Perez as part of the pay-per-view.
Hooker (21-0-2, 16 KO) has knocked out seven of his last eight opponents, only the capable Ghislain Maduma lasting the distance. “Mighty Mo,” a name which he’ll have to do a lot with in order to reset my mental association with Siala-Mou Siliga, is twenty-seven and looks like a solid prospect.
Perez (33-2-1, 21 KO), moving to 140 for the first time in a while, beat Argenis Lopez for the interim WBA belt, which ultimately became the regular title and which he defended three times before a knockout loss to Anthony Crolla. The Colombian’s only other pro loss came to Yuriorkis Gamboa.
This fight serves as Roc Nation’s contribution to the undercard; Main Events had previously provided theirs in the excellent Isaac Chilemba vs. Oleksandr Gvozdyk showdown and the two parties have to mutually agree on the fourth member of the pay-per-view lineup.
Curtis Stevens is set to face James De La Rosa in an untelevised prelim.
