Lightweights Ross Pearson and Desmond Green will both be attempting to reestablish themselves in the win column when they lock horns at UFC on ESPN 2 on March 30.
UFC announced the lightweight fight through it’s social media feeds Thursday.
British stalwart Pearson (20-15-0) has claimed just one win in his last six outings. After going on a four-fight skid with losses to Will Brooks, Jorge Masvidal, Stevie Ray and Daniel Hooker, “Real Deal” got back to winning ways when he took a decision win over Japanese veteran Mizuto Hirota. In his most recent outing, Pearson lost a unanimous decision to John Makdessi when they collided at UFC on Fox 30.
Pearson was signed to the UFC in 2009 after winning the lightweight bracket of The Ultimate Fighter: United States vs. United Kingdom. Approaching ten years with the promotion, he has compiled a record of 12-12-0, 1 NC in his 25 trips to the Octagon.
Green (21-8-0) came up short against Mairbek Taisumov despite giving the Russian one of the toughest tests he’s had under the UFC banner thus far. Green has claimed two wins in five UFC fights, claiming victories over Josh Emmett and Gleison Tibau. He has suffered three defeats in the Octagon to Rustam Khabilov, Michel Prazeres and most recently, Taisumov.
