Hall of fame boxing writer and frequent Fightnews contributor Joe Koizumi was honored with two awards (including Asian Matchmaker of the year) by the WBO today at the 29th Annual Convention in San Juan Puerto Rico.

Koizumi remains the most recognizable and respected boxing personality in Japan, not only as a writer and television commentator, but also as an official and as a matchmaker.

He was elected to the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2008. Congratulations Joe!
