Dereck Chisora may be coming off a bitterly disappointing knockout loss to Dillian Whyte in December — a bout his was winning on the cards until he got leveled late in the fight — but he’ll march on in his career looking to land another marquee fight, thought to come against former titleholder Joseph Parker.
And in preparations for his next fight, Chisora has formally employed trainer Dave Coldwell to command his corner. Coldwell is most known for his work with Tony Bellew and his past affiliation with David Haye, who is now serving in a managerial role for Chisora.
“I’m excited to be working with Dave Coldwell, I’m learning every day, I’m buzzing. Dave has done amazing work with my good friend Tony Bellew and his other boxers.
“I’m hungry to get back in the ring again, I will be back with new armoury and I’m ready for WAR. I’m hearing Team Parker have been calling my name, that’s easy to do when your on the other side of the planet.”
For his part Coldwell says he sees a real desire from Chisora to learn and improve on his game, and that is always a coach’s dream.
