Sanman Boxing Promotions has announced today that their unbeaten, promising fighter WBO Oriental Youth Flyweight Champion Jayson “The Smasher” Mama (11-0, 6 KO’s) of General Santos City, Philippines, will battle experienced world-ranked Thai warrior IBF Pan Pacific Titlist Teeraphong Utaida (38-6, 21 KO’s) in the flyweight final of the IBF Silk Road Tournament set for March 28 in China.
The 21-year-old Jayson Mama — fresh from scoring stoppage wins in his last five combats — earned the right to advance to the prestigious IBF China tournament’s final after outpointing Chinese 112-pounder Yinhuan Su (6-4-2, 1 KO) last August in Macao.
Meanwhile, the tough former world-title challenger Thailander Teeraphong Utaida, 25, also known as Fahlan Sakkreerin Jr., got his berth in the IBF Silk Road Tournament’s championship fight by capturing the vacant IBF Pan-Pacific Flyweight Title last December at the colorful Sai Noi Floating Market, 40 Km northwest of the Thai Capital, Bangkok.
Rated as IBF # 6 Flyweight, Teeraphong Utaida is by far the most difficult boxer that Jayson Mama has rumbled in this three year pro boxing career.
Will the young Sanman fighter step up in class to dominate the Thai Utaida, clinching the coveted IBF China Silk Road Tournament as well as a place in the IBF flyweight world ranking?
Or will the tough Utaida outclass the promising Gensan warrior to capture the tournament’s top prize?
The exciting Jayson Mama vs Teeraphong Utaida on Thursday March 28 for the IBF China Silk Road Tournament Flyweight Final promises fireworks. May the best man win!
