It has been reported that former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis was subject to a nasty arson attack at his Milwaukee home at around 1 AM on Thursday morning.
FOX 6 Now report that Pettis’ three cars were burnt out after an unidentified suspect set two of the vehicles alight with an accelerant and then sped off in the early hours of the morning.
The fire from the first two cars spread to the third and police are currently investigating the attack.
A local witness, Carson Blaszak, said he heard a loud bang and was shocked to see the cars on fire.
“I saw a car speeding through the neighborhood,” Blaszak told FOX 6. “Right around the same time as that happened, there was kind of a large bang. It was three cars caught on fire. I just, I ran outside, and I was hoping, you know, the house hopefully wasn’t gonna catch on fire.”
The motive is unclear and the local authorities are trying to work out why Pettis was targeted.
The 29-year-old has just been added to the UFC 206 pay-per-view in Toronto. Pettis is scheduled to take on Max Holloway in a featherweight bout on December 10.
