Nicaraguan Cristofer “The Whip” Rosales, will make the first defense of his WBC flyweight title in Northern Ireland, on August 18.
His rival will be former Olympian Paddy Barnes, on a card starring Carl Frampton, at Windsor Park in Belfast.
Barnes has only 5 fights as pro, with only one knockout, but with a solid career in amateur boxing, winning two Olympic bronze medals, at the 2008 Beijing Games and London 2012, he`s already been around the block.
In his most recent fight last November, Barnes defeated Nicaraguan Eliécer Quezada by KO. He will face Rosales, almost a year after that last fight.
Rosales, on the other hand, dished up and dished out a mighty big surprise on April 15, when he knocked out Daigo Higa, in nine rounds, to win the WBC flyweight crown.
