UNDEFEATED Qudratillo “The Punisher” Abdukakhorov of Uzbekistan will face Laszlo Toth of Hungary for the World Boxing Council (WBC) Silver welterweight title on March 17 at the One City Grand Ballroom in Selangor, Malaysia.
Abdukakhorov, who is now based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia is still unbeaten with 13 straight wins and nine knockouts.
The 24-year old orthodox fighter captured the WBC Silver welterweight crown via a first round technical knockout win against defending champion Charles Manyuchi last March 25, 2017 at the OCBC Arena in Singapore.
Manyuchi was twice downed in the opening round.
Abdukakhorov retained the title with a unanimous decision against Dmitry Mikhaylenko last July 9 at the DIVS, Ekaterinburg. He previously stopped Sherzodbek Alimjanov by a TKO in the 3rd round of a non-title fight.
Toth (25W-3L-1D, 17 KOs), on the other hand, previously captured the IBF Inter-Continental welterweight title by dethroning Tsiko Mulovhedzi of South Africa by a unanimous decision last October 27 in Seshego.
The 30-year old Toth also earlier won the vacant IBF Eas/East Europe welterweight title via a UD over Azad Azizov last July 1 in Hangelsberg.
The championship fight is the main event of the “Rise of the Champions” boxing card promoted by Raymond Lew of the BoxRank Promotion. It will be supervised by Kiate Sirigul of Thailand while the referee is Bruce McTavish.
