ACTUB VS. GOTO FOR OPBF FEMALE SUPER BANTAMWEIGHT TITLE IN JAPAN

FILIPINAS boxer Kim “Bonecrusher” Actub fights undefeated Japanese Ayumi Goto tonight (March 15) for the vacant Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) female super bantamweight title at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.

Actub, whose real name is Anna Marie Actub Gadapan tipped the scales at 122 lbs. while Goto submitted 121 lbs.

Goto is still undefeated with five straight wins and four knockouts while Actub has a record of 4 wins with 6 losses and 1 draw.

The 26-year old Actub has won her last two fights all by knockouts. She first stopped Aleth Jimenez via a 2nd round technical knockout last March 13 in Iligan.

Actub then TKO’d Joan Ambalong also in the 2nd round last December 20 in Dipolog City.

“Gagawin ko po ang lahat upang maiuwi ang korona sa Pilipinas,” said Actub in a text message.

Actub is accompanied by his trainer Ronaldo Rosales.

Goto, 28, also won her last two fights by TKOs – Areeya Sahot (4th round/Sept. 21) and Kamonrat Thongsopon (2nd round/Aug. 13).

The OPBF championship fight is promoted by the Reason Promotions under the Japan Boxing Commission.

Filipino judge Ferdinand Estrella will be one of the three judges. Also present are OPBF president Juan Ramon Guanzon and international matchmaker-promoter Brico Santig of Highland International Promotions.

Another Filipina fighter Norj Guro (7-6-1, 4 KOs) is also seeing action against undefeated Japanese minimumweight Erika Hanawa (6-0).

Guro, 26 of Iligan City previously fought but lost by an 8th round knockout to another Japanese Yuko Kuroki in their battle for the WBC World female minimumweight title last June 6 at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.

Hanawa, 26, won by a unanimous decision against Thailand’s Saranyaphong Theinthong also at  Korakuen Hall last July 27.

She also beat Filipina slugger Christine Latube by a UD last June 10 in Mandaluyong City to pocket the WBC Asian Boxing Council Continental female minimumweight title.
