Adam Piccolotti and James Terry headline the latest round of Bellator 206 bout announcements.
The two will face off in a 160-pound catchweight bout on the preliminary portion of the Sept. 29 show set to take place at the SAP Center in San Jose, Calif. Previously, Piccolotti competed primarily at lightweight while Terry’s last fight was a 165-pound catchweight affair.
Officials confirmed the bout with MMA Fighting on Friday, in addition to several other preliminary bouts.
Piccolotti, 29, recently ended the first losing streak of his five-year career with a first-round rear-naked choke submission over previously unbeaten Carrington Banks at Bellator 199 in May. He is 10-2 as a professional with six of those wins occurring in the Bellator cage.
For Terry (20-9), he will be looking to continue his recent run of success after defeating his last three Bellator opponents by decision. The 37-year-old Strikeforce veteran has won six of his last seven bouts fighting for Bellator and other promotions dating back to June 2015.
Also of note, featherweight prospect Gaston Bolanos (3-1) takes on Ysidro Gutierrez, and featherweight Justin Smitley (10-7-1) looks to remain undefeated in six consecutive bouts when he takes on Jeremiah Labiano (11-6).
Bellator 206 will be headlined by a middleweight title match between defending champion Gegard Mousasi and welterweight champion Rory MacDonald. In the co-main event, Quinton Jacksonfaces rival Wanderlei Silva in a heavyweight bout.
