ADANTE TO CHALLENGE IBF PAN PACIFIC JR. WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPION

DAVAO CITY, Philippines – The hard-fighting Junar Adante of the Philippines will be challenging IBF Pan Pacific junior welterweight champion Downua Ruawaiking of Thailand on June 21 in Bangkok.
“Handa na po akong lumaban upang kunin ang kanyang korona “(I’m now ready to fight to get his crown) said Adante, who was trained by Felix Tanamor at the MP Highland Gym in Manila.
The 25-year old Adante had previously scored a 6th round technical knockout win against Joepher Montano last February 18 at the Makati Square Boxing Arena in Makati City.
Adante, a native of Cagwait, Surigao del Sur has already fought in two separate championships outside the country.
Adante first bowed by a unanimous decision to Xia Qian Wei of China in their battle for the WBC Asian Boxing Council and WBC Eurasia Pacific Boxing Council featherweight titles in 2015 at the Expo Garden Hotel in Kumming, China.
The following year, Adante was later stopped by Anurak Thisa in the fourth round for the PABA super bantamweight crown in Bangkok.
Adante then suffered two more successive loses in abroad in 2016 to James Murashige (Hong Kong) and Dong Hee Kim (South Korea) before he bounced back with a TKO victory early this year.
