Advances of the Weight Monitoring Program: “Weighing in the dressing room”

The weight has always been the enemy of the boxer. Some rules have changed and procedures have been established to continue taking care of the physical integrity of the fighters.

The World Boxing Council is implementing a weighing system on the same day of the fight.

The fighters must be weighed in the dressing room of the arena where the fight will take place. Although it is an unofficial weighing, it must be done to monitor that it does not exceed 10 percent of what is marked in the official weighing.

Said weighing will be coordinated by the supervisor of the WBC and the local Boxing Commission.
