Murodjon Akhmadaliev and Ryosuke Iwasa held their final press conference on Thursday from Tashkent, Uzbekistan, where the local fighter will defend his World Boxing Association (WBA) Super Bantamweight Super Championship against the Japanese on Saturday, in an event that will also have two regional black and gold titles at stake.

The local press has paid special attention to the Matchroom Boxing event as it will feature several of today’s top Uzbek fighters, including Olympic medalists Shakhram Giyasov and Hasanboy Dusmatov, who will be fighting for regional belts this Saturday; and, of course, Murodjon, WBA World Champion who also holds the IBF belt.

For that reason, there were many journalists at the conference, in which both Akhmadaliev and Iwasa said they are ready for the WBA championship fight and promised a great bout this Saturday at the Humo Arena.

“Iwasa is a warrior and a very dangerous fighter but I am not going to give my belts to anyone,” assured Akhmadaliev.

In addition to the main bout, Giyasov will defend his WBA-International Super Lightweight belt against Mexican Patricio Lopez Moreno. The former Olympic medalist will look for his 11th professional victory and the second defense of his belt.

“We are ready to introduce ourselves to the people of our country. Fighting in Uzbekistan is a dream for me,” said Giyasov.

Meanwhile, super prospect Dusmatov will make his third professional fight against Tanzanian Muhsin Kizota. Hasanboy has two fights with two KOs and now he will be looking for a new resounding victory against an opponent with much more experience and a better record like the African.

On the other hand, Israil Madrimov, number 1 in the WBA 154 lbs. ranking, wants to take the last step before a title opportunity fighting the undefeated Congolese Emmany Kalombo in a war that promises a lot of action.

Uzbek talent is looking to have a dream night this Saturday, but they will have major challenges to overcome if they are to bring joy to their home crowd.
