Alexander-Carcosia, Clarke-Rofol Make Weight for IBO Battles in Melbourne, Australia

Fighters made weight ahead of their IBO Clashes set for tomorrow Saturday, March 7, at the MSAC Stadium Albert Park Melbourne, Australia, a production of Kings of Kombat, Peter Maniatis Events and Ultratune.

In one of the headliners, undefeated hard-hitting Sanman warrior Presco “The Iceman” Carcosla (8-0-1, 7 KO’s) of Gensan made 57.15 kilos (126 lbs), while his undefeated foe Jai Alexander (11-0, 6 KO’s) stepped-in at 57.05 Kgs (125.8 lbs) ahead of their war for the vacant IBO Asia Pacific Featherweight belt.

Carcosia, looking in good spirits, is assisted in Melbourne by JC Manangquil and Gary Connoly.

After making weight, Carcosia commented “I am here to fight my best for Sanman Boxing. Thanks to Ultratune, Kings of Kombat and Peter Maniatis Events for inviting me to fight here.

“l like Melbourne. It’s a beautiful place. I am fit and ready,” assured the 23-year-old Carcosia in his first rumble outside of his native Philippines.

RAFOL VS CLAKE IN THE CO-FEATURE

In the show’s co-feature, Pinoy Rodynie “Dondon” Rafol (14-7-2, 7 KO’s ) of Mindoro Occidental, Philippines, scaled-in at 60.75 kilos (134 lbs), looking in top shape.

His opponent unbeaten Australian “Superman” Kayne Clarke (9-0, 6 KO’s) tipped the scale today at 60.98 Kgs (134,5 lbs). The two men will engage for the vacant IBO Asia Pacific lightweight belt.

“The winners of these two IBO Asia-Pacific clashes may go on to qualify for for IBO World titles fights ,” revealed co-promoter Peter Maniatis.   

In attendance supervising the action will be IBO Vice President for Asia Pacific Justin Kennedy.

The Pinoy combatant, Rayfnie Rafol, shared “This is my chance to win an IBO belt. Thanks to my trainer Todd Makelin and to Peter Maniatis. I have trained hard for Kayne Clarke fight. I will do my best,” promised the positive and friendly “Dondon” Rafol.

Boxing fans in Melbourne can’t wait for the exciting fighting action pitting Australian fighters vs Filipino warriors this Saturday, March 7, at the MSAC Stadium Albert Park, City of Melbourne, Australia. 

The first fight starts at 6:30 pm.
