Alexander Gustafsson wants to waste no time in 2019.

Less than 10 days after losing to Jon Jones for the vacant light heavyweight championship in Inglewood, Calif., “The Mauler” went on his social media to call for a fight with Corey Anderson in Europe, more specifically the Fight Night card scheduled for March 16 in London.

“Corey, everyone else at the top is taken,” Gustafsson posted on Monday, “I am eager to get right back inside the cage and you just had a good fight with my brother, so I think it’s the perfect time for us to throw down. Let’s dance on the London card March 16th.”

Anderson (12-4) won three in a row in 2018, capped off by a decision victory over Sweden’s own Ilir Latifi on the same night Gustafsson lost to Jones. Anderson’s winning streak also includes decision wins over Glover Teixeira and Patrick Cummins.

Gustafsson (18-5), who earned a shot at the belt with a stoppage victory over Teixeira in 2017, is 10-2 in non-title fights under the UFC banner, coming up short in three attempts to claim the 205-pound belt in the Octagon.

The UFC London card will take place at the O2 Arena and currently includes two other light heavyweight contests, Volkan Oezdemir taking on Dominick Reyes and Gokhan Saki returning against Saparbeg Safarov. The company has yet to announce which bout headlines the event.
