Ambo loses to WBO Inter-Continental super flyweight fight

DAVAO CITY — Joseph “The Hunter” Ambo of Pangasinan lost to Yanga Sigqibo of South Africa by a unanimous decision last July 27 (July 28 in Manila) in the International Convention Centre in East London, Easter Cafe, South Africa.It was Ambo’s second defeat against 9 wins and 1 draw while Sigqibo scored his 13 wins against his 1 loss and 1 draw.Sigqibo also retained his World Boxing Organization Inter-Continental super flyweight title.He earlier outpointed Keyvin Lara of Nicaragua to win the vacant WBO Inter-Continental super flyweight title last Dec. 7.Sigqibo also beat Manila’s Rene Dacquel via a split decision to win the vacant World Boxing Council International super flyweight title last July 27, 2018.
