More technically sound, unbeaten Briton Sunny “Showtime” Edwards (18-0, 4 KO’s) outboxed and decisioned 34-year-old Pakistani brawler Muhammad “Falcon” Waseem (12-2, 8 KO’s) by unanimous scores to retain his IBF Flyweight World Title Saturday night, March 19, in Dubai.

Waseem charged forwards, mostly unffectively, many times head first for which he got points deducted, while the 26-year-old Sunny “Showtime” Edwards from London counterpunched, moved and boxed far better, landing more blows, even though with not enough power to get Waseem staggered nor in trouble.

It was a well-deserved victory for Sunny Edwards, clearly the better man throughout the 12 chapter brawl.

After the win, Edwards said during the post-fight interview that he’d love to unify belts against Mexican WBC-112 king 🇲🇽 Julio Cesar Martínez (18-2, 14 KO’s), asking Martínez’ promoter Eddie Hearn to stage the fight.
