Orthodox ArAr “Asero” Andales of Northern Samar stopped Minh Phat Sam of Vietnam in the 7th round to win the vacant World Boxing Organisation Oriental Minimum title last October 23 at the Wadong Gym in Ansan, South Korea.
In the 7th round, the referee stopped the fight to let the ring physician check Sam’s right eye, which was closely closed.
It was no longer continued by the referee.
The 22-year-old Andales raised his victory and earned his 13th win with five knockout against two loses.
Meanwhile, Michael “Captain Barbel” Mendoza of Camarines Sur failed to make it a two-a-row as he bowed to Olimjon Nazarov of Uzbekistan via a unanimous decision.
Nazarov, 36, retained his WBO Oriental flyweight title for the second time and improved his win a 26 against five loses.
