On August 5, a report was filed about a domestic abuse incident involving UFC flyweight Andrea Lee and her husband and coach, Donny Aaron. In his lengthy statement, Lee’s roommate and KOTC fighter Andy Nguyen detailed the alleged assault that she witnessed. A warrant for Aaron’s arrest has since been issued.

Lee has since taken to social media to issue a statement, which asks for “privacy” as they “work towards resolutions and closure.”

Aaron is a former police officer who served prison time after being convicted of negligent homicide in 2009, stemming from a 2005 incident.

A couple of months prior to the incident, he was under scrutiny in the media regarding his Aryan-inspired tattoo choices (swastika, SS). In the police report, Nguyen also claimed that “UFC and many other people offered Donny FREE tattoo cover up and he still never did it.”

According to the Shreveport Police Department’s statement, Aaron’s bond totals $2,500 and is being charged with one count of Domestic Abuse Battery and one count of False Imprisonment.

Lee is 9-2 in MMA, and has fought once in the UFC, beating Veronica Macedo by decision last May.
