We have a new WBA super featherweight champion of the world. Andrew Cancio upset the odds tonight on DAZN, stopping reigning champion Alberto Machado in four rounds to become a world titleholder. The official stoppage came at 2:16 of Round 4.

This fight was thought to be a mismatch for Machado, but it didn’t turn out that way. Well, at first everything was going to script, with Machado dropping Cancio hard in the first round, with it looking like things were over before they really started. Cancio barely beat the count, but he did, and from then on he kept the pressure on Machado, strafing him with shots and shaking him up in the third round.

Then in the fourth round it became clear that Cancio’s onslaught was taking a toll on Machado as his defense quickly failed him. Cancio would land a clean body shot that would put Machado down. This time Machado barely beat the count, getting up at the count of 9, and Cancio jumped right back on him and put him down again with another flurry of punches. Machado managed to just beat the count again, but Cancio poured it on some more and put Machado right back down, ending the fight.
