Spain’s Angel Moreno has a big fight coming on March 23 in London, when he goes on the road to challenge WBC flyweight titleholder Charlie Edwards at Copper Box Arena in the main event of a card that will stream live on DAZN.

Moreno (19-2-2, 6 KO) remembers sparring Edwards (14-1, 6 KO) in the past.

“I am not going to London for a holiday,” said Moreno. “This is the opportunity of a lifetime for me. We know each other very well having sparred on two occasions in the past. We’ve shared many rounds together and I think he knows that I will be too strong for him on the night. If his team thinks that this fight will be an easy defense for Charlie, they are very wrong.

Edwards, 26, beat Cristofer Rosales for his belt on Dec. 22 at O2 Arena, on the Whyte-Chisora II undercard, and will obviously have home field advantage in his first defense. But Moreno says that doesn’t worry him.

“I am not scared about the hostile atmosphere that will greet me in London,” Moreno said. “I have fought away from home in Ukraine and France, and I am a 35-year-old man. I believe that my experience will show in the ring. I had plenty of notice for this fight and I’ve enjoyed the best and most productive training camp of my career. Do not be surprised when I beat Charlie.”

It’s worth noting that in Moreno’s two fights outside of Spain, he was beaten both times, by Artem Dalakian in 2015 in Ukraine, and by Thomas Masson in 2016 in France. And if he beats Edwards, it will certainly be considered an upset.
