Maryna Moroz didn’t have to wait long for another opportunity to step in the cage.
The 26-year-old strawweight was supposed to fight Jamie Moyle this past weekend at UFC 220, but Moyle was forced out of the bout with an undisclosed injury days before the event. Rather than rush to find a replacement for Moyle, the matchmakers instead waited to re-book Moroz for a meeting with Angela Hill at UFC on FOX 28 in Orlando, Fla.
Officials confirmed the news to MMA Fighting following a report by the Orlando Sentinel.
Moroz (8-2) has won three of her five UFC appearances since debuting with the promotion in April 2015 with a first-round submission of Joanne Calderwood. In her most recent outing atUFC Oklahoma City this past June, Moroz lost a unanimous decision to former champion Carla Esparza.
Hill (7-4) is also coming off of a unanimous decision loss having been outpointed by Nina Ansaroff at UFC Norfolk in November. The Ultimate Fighter 20 alum went 4-0 in 2016, capturing and defending the Invicta FC strawweight title; however, she has gone just 1-2 in her second stint with the UFC.
UFC on FOX 28 takes place at the Amway Center in Orlando on Feb. 24. In the main event, featherweight stalwart Jeremy Stephens takes on rising contender Josh Emmett.
