Anthony Johnson fires back at ‘cry baby ass’ Daniel Cormier

Daniel Cormier and Anthony Johnson have fought twice and hardly any trash talk was exchanged prior to those bouts. Things have changed between the two men now, however.

One day after Cormier called Johnson “f*cking soft” on his podcast, Johnson has fired back at the UFC light heavyweight champion on social media.

“Rumble” posted on Facebook that Cormier was “salty” that Johnson was speaking to Jon Jones, the guy that knocked Cormier out.

“So take your cry baby ass on and praise God that Jon screwed up and you got the belt back that way!” Johnson wrote.

Jones and Johnson spoke in person before UFC 214 in July. On that card, Jones knocked out Cormier to win back the UFC light heavyweight title. But Jones was later stripped and the title was given back to Cormier when Jones failed an in-competition drug test for the steroid turinabol.

Johnson joked in the post that if Cormier thought he was giving Jones advice, “what advice is there to give him?” since Jones has beaten Cormier twice in the Octagon, though the second one has now been overturned to a no contest.

“F**king soft is what you called me, oh well that’s your opinion,” Johnson wrote. “Saying I gave Jon advice lol buddy what advice is there to give him? I wasn’t fighting either one of you, so there’s no point of giving advice. That’s not my style! I believe in fair fights period.”

Cormier beat Johnson for a second time at UFC 210 back in April in a light heavyweight title fight. Johnson abruptly retired after that bout. But Johnson’s manager Ali Abdel-Aziz told Ariel Helwani on Monday’s edition of The MMA Hour that “Rumble” will be meeting with the UFC this week to discuss a comeback.

On his Talk & Talker podcast, Cormier said once he saw Johnson and Jones speaking before UFC 214, he was essentially done with any relationship he had with Johnson.

“What the f*ck are you so friendly with a guy in your weight class for?” Cormier said. “F*ck that. The competitor in you shouldn’t allow you to be that nice to that guy. In my mind, that dude is f*cking soft. You should never be that f*cking friendly with somebody, especially if it’s somebody that you may end up fighting. We can be respectful but you don’t need to be f*cking friendly bobbing all over the place.”
