Arnold Barboza Jr UD8 Jonathan Chicas: Undefeated junior welterweight up and comer Arnold Barboza Jr was able to use his superior height and reach to outpoint Jonathan Chicas, 15-4 (7), in a highly entertaining scrap. The first four rounds were all Barboza Jr, he even dropped Chicas with a jab in round three. In round Chicas responded and dropped Barboza with an overhand right, Barboza beat the count and was able to make it out of the round. Round six was close and could have gone either way. In round seven Chicas was cut on his left eyelid with an accidental elbow. Once the action resumed Chicas buckled Barboza with another right hand and unleashed barrages of power shots while Barboza was trapped in the corner. Barboza, 17-0 (3), did fight back and landed a crisp uppercut and right hand that did enough to slow Chicas offense. Round eight belonged to Barboza as Chicas didn’t fight with the necessary urgency to pull of an upset. dropped Chicas with a jab in round three. Official scores were 77-73, 78-72, 76-74. Source: ESPN
