WBC female bantamweight champion Mariana “Barby” Juarez scored a one-sided unanimous decision over Terumi Nuki in the first defense of her 118lb green belt on Saturday night at the Auditorio Benito Juárez in Zapopan, Mexico. After the fight, Juarez grabbed the mic to accept the challenge of Mexican female star Jackie Nava and declared that she would face Nava in a fight that would be historic for women’s boxing not only in Mexico but worldwide.
