Miguel “Alacrán” Berchelt and Jonathan Víctor Barros looked strong, fit and ready to commence battle, during a press and public workout.
“Alacrán” Berchelt (33-1-0, 29 knockouts) will be defending his WBC super featherweight world championship against Argentine “Yoni” Barros (41-5-1, 22 knockouts) this Saturday at the Zamna Poliforum in Mérida, in a spectacuñar card of Zanfer and Max Boxing.
In the Salvador Alvarado Stadium, the stars of the boxing evening worked as the pads and went through a dazzling display of slock moves and rugged exercises.
“I’m so motivated to defend my championship in front of my people. The belt stays put at home!” vowed a relaxed by determined Berchelt.
Barros gave gracious thanks for the opportunity but tactfully and in a tactile way, suggested that the promoters were utterly wrong to choose him as a rival for an optional defense.
“The opportunity I was looking for came to me and I’m not going to waste it, I do not come from so far just to go for a walk, I come to become a world champion, I respect Berchelt. He has fought great fights lately , but he will not be able to do it with my style and rhythm,” cooly predicted Barros.
