Discuss the Friday, February 24th Bellator 173: McGeary vs. McDermott card right here on Bloody Elbow, starting at 9 PM ET on Spike.
There is no UFC this week, but if you have a hankering for some MMA, Bellator 173 is tonight (February 24th). The main event is between former light heavyweight champion Liam McGeary and late-notice replacement Brett McDermott, who’s replacing Vladimir Filipovic, who had replaced Chris Fields. This fight is being contested at a 218 lbs catchweight.
In the co-main event of this Belfast, Northern Ireland card, featherweight prospect James Gallagher takes on Kirill Medvedovsky. As is the standard for overseas shows, Bellator 173 is on tape delay. The card starts on Spike at 9 PM ET/CT (extra tape delay for the west coast!) and this is your place to discuss the show, spoiler-free. There’s no preliminary card stream, as the preliminary card was literally BAMMA 28, which aired earlier today on FloCombat. If you want to see the results of that, click here.
Check out The MMA Vivisection for a full breakdown of tonight’s show, as well as Eddie Mercado’s preview.
