Bellator and Rizin Fight Federation will continue to grow their partnership next month at Bellator 222

On Wednesday, Bellator officials announced their fighter Lindsey VanZandt will square off against Rizin FF fighter Rena Kubota at Madison Square Garden in New York City. This bout marks the second scrap between two fighters representing their organizations as Bellator bantamweight champion rematches RIZIN FF champion Kyoji Horiguchi on the same card.

VanZandt (4-1) is looking to continue her winning ways following a second-round TKO in her promotional debut over Tabatha Ann Watkins at Bellator 215 in February. This got her back into the win column after coming up short to Kelly D’Angelo at Invicta FC 31 in September.

To date, the woman known as “Damsel” has finished three of her four professional wins by (T)KO.

Kubota (8-2 MMA, 33-5-1 kickboxing), a multiple time Shoot Boxing champion, is also looking to pick up her second straight win following her decision win over Samantha Jean-Francois at RIZIN 15 in April. Prior to this, she came up short to Kanna Asakura at RIZIN 11 last July.

To date, Kubota has finished four of her eight professional MMA fights by (T)KO.

The entire card will go down inside Madison Square Garden on June 14. With this latest additions, here is how the entire card stands:

(c) – champion
