Tony Bellew is geared up for his March 4 fight with David Haye, and says that once he knocks Haye out in London, he’ll allow for him to have a rematch.

“I’m going to be a good man and give ‘Sideshow Bob’ a return once I’ve knocked him out. I’m going to give him a way back, because believe you me, when I beat him on March 4 you are going to hear every excuse possible. From he’s got a sore toe, a broken finger nail, his hair band wasn’t on right.

“I’m already prepared for ‘I wasn’t taking him seriously’, ‘I was in Miami’, ‘I was on yachts, ‘I was sipping protein shakes out of a cocktail glass’. All I will say is, I will give you the chance to get it back, once I stop you on March 4.”

Bellew (28-2-1, 18 KO) is on a good run right now, winning all eight of his fights as a cruiserweight since moving up in 2014. Last year, he knocked out Junior Makabu to win the vacant WBC belt, and defended successfully against BJ Flores.

Haye (28-2, 26 KO) is a former cruiserweight and heavyweight titleholder, but hasn’t had a serious opponent since 2012. He retired from the sport before returning in 2016, beating overmatched Mark de Mori and Arnold Gjergjaj in fights that sold well but ultimately turned out to be the nonsense events expected. That said, Haye has always stayed in shape, and at 36 isn’t so old that he’s well out of his prime just on age.

Bellew also rules out ever fighting Anthony Joshua, despite fighting at heavyweight against Haye, saying that Joshua is “just too big” for him.
