Now former super middleweight champion of the World Boxing Council, American David Benavidez (23-0, 20 KOs), defeated Colombian contender Roamer Alexis Angulo (26-2, 22 KOs) by technical knockout in the tenth round, at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.
Benavidez, failing to reach the 168-pound weight required by the super middleweight division, losing his world title. The belt was only at stake for Angulo, so now it is vacant.
Benavidez put up a very good fight against Colombian Angulo, who had a three-fight winning streak.
