World Boxing Council Super Middleweight Champion David Benavidez and his rival Ronald Gavril will clash in a highly anticipated rematch of their thrilling encounter of last September.
The bout will be held on Saturday February 17th at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas and will be presented by Premier Boxing Champions and broadcasted live on SHOWTIME.
This is what the warriors commented:
DAVID BENAVIDEZ
“On February 17 I will leave the Mandalay Bay with the WBC belt on my shoulder. Being the champion have been my dream since I was a child I worked so hard for that. I want to be one of the best fighters in the history of the super middleweights and I am working hard to achieve it.
“I am the youngest world champion in the division and I am going to show Gavril why I already defeated him in our first fight. This time I will look even better and I will get the knockout.”
RONALD GAVRIL
“I’m very happy to be here and to be in this position for a rematch. I want to thank David Benavidez for agreeing to fight me. I thought I won the first fight, so I wanted this rematch immediately.”
“I learned a lot from the first fight. I know what I have to do to look better this time. The strategy will be adjusted and I will work even harder in camp to be ready.
“I can do many things better than in the first fight. I proved that I have the skills and now I will improve to take the green and gold belt home.”
Tickets for the live event, promoted by Mayweather Promotions and TGB Promotions, are now on sale and available at AXS.com
