Conor Benn’s return to the ring is great news for boxing. The World Boxing Association (WBA) continental welterweight champion will fight veteran Adrian Granados on Saturday in Leeds, England, after being forced to postpone his previous bout due to Covid-19.

The 24-year-old fighter was supposed to fight on July 31 but after the positive result, he had to withdraw from that bout. However, he completed his recovery and the boxing world is ready to see one of the sport’s top young talents back in the ring.

Benn will be making the fifth defense of the regional crown he won in June 2019. Since then, the son of Conor Nigel has been having important victories against experienced opponents with a good record such as Sebastian Formella and Samuel Vargas.

This time he will have to overcome the test of Adrian Granados. A Mexican warrior who has fought opponents like Shawn Porter, Danny Garcia, and Robert Easter. The 32-year-old challenger has the experience to upset Benn and has said so in the months leading up to the fight.

On Friday it will be their turn to step on the scales to make the 147 pounds they need to fight for the belt and on Saturday it will be all hands on deck in the United Kingdom. Benn is undefeated in 18 fights, with 12 knockouts, while Granados has 21 wins, 8 losses, 3 draws, and 15 knockouts.
