Berchelt and Roman battle lines

Miguel “Alacran” Berchelt and Miguel “Mickey” Roman, are closing in on the  clash for the WBC super featherweight crown.

Berchelt will make the fourth defense of his super featherweight World Boxing Council title against Roman on Saturday, November 3 at the Don Haskins Center on the campus of the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP).

Both fighters promoted their fight on November 3, in front of boxing media in a restaurant in Las Vegas.

“I’ve wanted this fight for a long time” said Berchelt. “Roman has been talking a lot. I cannot wait to be in the ring with him.  I’m happy to fight in El Paso, which is the perfect place for an event  like this. I’ll show all the fans that I’m on my way to becoming  one of the greatest Mexican champions. ”

“Berchelt will get a very big surprise. He’s never seen a Mexican warrior like me before, fans will be on my side, and I know I will be the new WBC champion,” quipped Mickey.

“Top Rank is very pleased to be able to present a truly great championship fight between two Mexican warriors in the great city of El Paso, which has hosted so many important boxing events in the past,” commented Bob Arum.

The card is presented by Top Rank promotion, in partnership with Zanfer Promotions and Promociones del Pueblo. The tickets for this world championship event will go on sale on Friday, September 21 at 10 a.m. MDT. With a price of $ 250, $ 150, $ 75, $ 45 and $ 35, tickets can be purchased online at Ticketmaster.com.
