This morning within the Sports and Chips facilities, located south of Mexico City, in a more than special event, Bernice Gaytán was recognized as Hero of Humanity, a recognition that the WBC created to honour all those people who During this pandemic have performed acts of love and help to others.
Bernice, who is a cancer survivor, is an example of struggle and perseverance, because throughout the process she never allowed herself to be defeated, finding in boxing a little peace and hope.
Bernice, who is worth mentioning, was certified in the judges and referees program within WBC University, received from Jill Diamond and Christiane Manzur, director of WBC Cares and director WBC Cares Mexico respectively, a medal and certificate that recognizes her as a Hero of Humanity.
Our honoree, who has become a speaker, has also become the voice of hope for all those young people and children who have lowered their arms to her struggle.
During this pandemic Bernice offered free online talks to reduce people’s stress levels and take care of their health, she also presented a TedX talk, confirming the importance of boxing and how sport helps you discover your skills to overcome life’s challenges.
She worked giving conferences to companies and giving boxing clinics, seeking to help children with cancer in Mexico. She helped girls and women to participate in this beautiful sport, working for gender equality.
Bernice is Marketing Director, ambassador for various projects, LGBTT community activist, athlete and ambassador for Banco de Tapitas, to support children with cancer.
