Newcomer Fritz “Kid Tornado” Biagtan of Dagupan City will fight Arnon Yupang of Thailand on October 30 at the Suamlum Night Bazaar in Ratchadaphisek, Bangkok.

“It will be a great experience fighting a number 1 ranked boxer here in Thailand,” said Biagtan in a Facebook message.

Biagtan, a former mixed martial artist, is only fighting his second bout as a boxer.

He won his debut against Sheknazar Yusubox of Uzbekistan by a technical knockout in the 2nd round last March 17, 2018 at the One City Grand Ballroom in Subang Jaya, Malaysia.

“I will do my best to bring victory to our God, to my country, family, teams and friends. Let’s do this,” said Biagtan.

Yupang, however, is a more experienced fighter than Biagtan.

He won seven fights, three by knockouts and only lost one.

Yupang won the World Boxing Association (WBA) Asia South featherweight title by beating compatriot Amnat Ruenroeng by a unanimous decision last February 27 at the Suamlum Night Bazaar.

Meanwhile, Tanes Ongjunta of Thailand will defend his WBA Asia flyweight title against compatriot Lerdchai Chaiyawed in the main event.

Ongjunta (8-1, 4KOs) defeated former WBC Asian Boxing Council light flyweight champion Suriyan Satorn by a unanimous decision last March 27 at Suamlum Night Bazaar.

Chaiyawed (6-5, 2KOs), on the other hand, recently beat Kerkkriat Markmee by a unanimous decision last February 27 at Suamlum.
