Rising middleweight prospect Paulo Henrique Costa, also known as ‘Borrachinha,’ will not be competing against Uriah Hall at UFC Fight Night 128 anymore. As Combate reported, a 30% partial tear of Costa’ biceps occurred during a training session, forcing the 26-year-old to pull out of the fight.
Later on, Borrachinha himself confirmed the news on his Instagram, declaring that he could be back as early as June.
“This is not good news for my fans. I had a serious injury, partial breaking of biceps ligament. I know that you are excited to see me again and I am too, but i need some more time to return to show all my potential to you in the cage, soon you will see me again. probably in June. God bless. God bless.”
Still undefeated in his professional career, Borrachinha (11-0) has defeated Garreth McLellan,Oluwale Bamgbose, and former welterweight champion Johny Hendricks in his three UFC bouts, all by knockout.
UFC Fight Night 128 is expected to take place in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on April 21. The will event will be headlined by a lightweight bout between contenders Edson Barboza and Kevin Lee.
