Big surprise… new WBC world champion Panya Pradabsri

The President of the World Boxing Council, Mr. Mauricio Sulaimán, who, like every Tuesday, presented  “Coffee Tuesdays” said that he was very surprised by the defeat of Wanheng Menayothin, a fighter who reigned in the strawweight division for six distinguished years. However, he said he was happy for the new Green and Gold champion Panya Pradabsri.

For Mauricio, this fight represents the greatness of boxing, as both Thai boxers faced each other in a great clash, which as we all know ended by unanimous decision with 115-113 on all three scorecards.

“Menayothin has been a champion who achieved many records, including setting a historic record of 54-0. In addition, the fighter was crowned when I started my presidency and since then we have walked together. I am sure that he will know how to recover from this fall and as an organization we will support any decision he makes,” he commented.

“For Panya Pradabsri, I wish a successful reign where he defends his crown with honor and pride as his compatriot always did.”
