The fight does not yet have a venue
Champions Billy Joe Saunders and Terry Flanagan are teaming up for a double-header. Frank Warren today announced that the two will defend their titles against Martin Murray and Maurice Hooker on April 14th at a venue to be announced next Thursday.
Saunders (26-0, 12 KO) will be making the fourth defense of the WBO title he won from Andy Lee in 2015. After lackluster wins over Artur Akavov and Willie Monroe Jr., Saunders dominated David Lemieux last month in his most impressive victory to date. Murray (36-4-1, 17 KO), meanwhile, will be making his second appearance at middleweight since getting thrashed by Gennady Golovkin, having beaten Gabriel Rosado by majority decision last year.
Murray is currently ranked #10 by the WBO at middleweight.
Flanagan (33-0, 13 KO) vs. Hooker (23-0-3, 16 KO) was announced a couple of weeks agoand hasn’t gotten any more appealing with time. Hooker, who struggled with Darleys Perez, should be a sizeable underdog.
