UFC superstar Conor McGregor is currently in another run-in with the law. “The Notorious” was charged with strong-armed robbery for allegedly smashing a fan’s phone outside the Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel on early Tuesday morning.

According to complainant Ahmed Abdirzak’s first-hand accounts, it all happened after he pulled out his phone and took video of McGregor, whom he later described as a “dangerous thug.”

But for those who have been in the limelight like former middleweight champion Michael Bisping has, Abdirzak should be blamed as well.

“Look at Kanye West outside LAX. Kanye West grabbed someone’s camera and smashed it up,” Bisping said in a recent episode of his Believe You Me podcast. “He never got arrested, though.

“So this guy’s – I’ll just say this guy’s a bit of a f—king d-ck, to press charges.”

Bisping did clarify that McGregor needed to be sanctioned for his actions. But at the same time, he argued that Abdirzak may have crossed some lines, which resulted in such a reaction.

“He’s a very, very recognizable famous person,” Bisping said of McGregor. “And by the way, I’m not jumping to his defense, (I’m) just being real. He has to deal with this sh-t on a daily basis, it must drive him up the f—king wall.

“And who knows? I read in the article that it was 5am in the morning, you’re coming in, you’re a bit pissed. You don’t want a picture of you looking a bit drunk at 5 am all over the place. You’re like ‘No, buddy, I’m sorry. I’d appreciate it if we didn’t do a picture.

“Sometimes, you’re not f—king camera ready, because you know that’s going on Instagram, it’s gonna do the rounds, and they’re gonna show the mates. Sometimes, you’re just like ‘You know what, I’d rather just shake your hand, and have a conversation with you for five minutes, and have a real connection. I’m sure that would be more worthwhile for you.’

“But everybody wants it for the ‘gram,” he continued. “It’s all about Instagram, they want to get that picture. And he flipped. He lost his f—king temper and he grabbed the phone and smashed it.

“It’s not a big deal. It really, really isn’t.”

Ultimately, Bisping sided more with McGregor, stating he would have done the same if put in that situation.

“Some people, they do push it, though. Some people f—king push it, they do,” Bisping said. “I’ve had them with the cameras, filming you and stuff, and you’re like ‘Alright, dude. Put the camera away. What are you doing?’ And they won’t listen, they won’t learn.

“He did what I wanted to do. Sometimes, I wish I could take someone’s phone and smash it on the f—king floor. So fair play to him.”

McGregor’s been released from the Miami-Dade County hours after his rest upon posting a $12,500 bond. His attorney also promised full cooperation in the legal proceedings to come.
