Sergey Kuzmin and Joey Dawejko will square off in a 10-round heavyweight bout on the Bivol-Smith Jr undercard, which airs March 9 on DAZN from Verona, New York.

Kuzmin (14-0, 11 KO) is a 31-year-old Russian fighter coming off of a solid 2018, where he went 3-0 including a September win over David Price on the Joshua-Povetkin show at Wembley Stadium. He stopped Price after four rounds, when Price retired from the bout due to injury.

Dawejko (19-6-4, 11 KO) is a 28-year-old battler from Philadelphia who is known for an entertaining style. He’s tough, too, but he was outclassed in his last two bouts, losing wide decisions to Bryant Jennings and Andrey Fedosov.

Along with the Bivol-Smith main event for Bivol’s WBA “world” light heavyweight title, the card will feature Maurice Hooker defending his WBO 140-pound belt against Mikkel LesPierre, and Callum Johnson facing Seanie Monaghan in another light heavyweight bout, with Johnson potentially in line to face the winner of the main event if he comes through as expected.
