FILIPINO prospect Jeny Boy “Camiguin Tiger” Boca will be challenging IBF Asia flyweight champion Komgrich Nantapech of Thailand on September 30 in Bangkok, Thailand.
The 22-year old Boca has been preparing for this fight for six weeks now at the Sanman Boxing Gym in General Santos City.
“I am well prepared for this fight. And I will give everything I got in the ring,” said Boca, who is toting a record of 12 wins with 10 knockouts against three losses.
“Boca is prepared and is looking to beat the Thai in his home country,” said manager Jim Claude “JC” Manangquil, chief executive officer of the Sanman Promotions from General Santos City.
Boca, a native of Mambajao, Camiguin will be accompanied by Manangquil with his older brother and co-manager John Ray Manangquil and Sanman chief finance officer Dexter “Wang Yu” Tan.
Boca previously won by a unanimous decision win against Jeffrey Alejandre last June 26 at the Gaisano Mall Atrium of General Santos City.
“This is Boca’s biggest fight. Hopefully he can bring home the title,” said Tan.
Nantapech, however, is no pushover. He has a record of 21 wins, 14 KOs and 3 losses.
Nantapech has not been beaten in his last 14 fights. This year, Nantapech won all his four fights, two by knockout.
The 27-year old Thai stopped Demsi Manufoe of Indonesia in his previous fight held August 12 in Thailand.
He also TKO’d Yang Chen last February 26 in Bangkok then won by a split decision against Takayuki Okumoto on April 3 in Osaka.
Nantapech then defeated Jayar Diama on July 8 at home by a UD.
He has already beaten five Filipinos – Jomar Fajardo (TKO), Lionel Legada (TKO), Edison Berwela (RTD), Renz Llagas (KO) and Jimmy Masangkay (UD). But he also first lost to two other Filipino boxers – Albert Pagara (2nd KO) and Froilan Saludar (UD).
