INTERNATIONAL Boxing Federation (IBF) Youth super flyweight champion Jade Bornea will be defending his title against Thailand’s Jakkrawut Majoooen on Sept. 9 at the Polomolok Gym in Polomolok, South Cotabato.
Bornea, who still undefeated with eight wins and five knockouts, is facing a tough former WBC World Youth champion, who has a record of 19 wins with 11 knockouts and only one loss.
Majoogoen, also known as Kongfah CP Freshmart won the WBC Word Youth title via a unanimous decision to Filipino Cris Alfante in 2014 in Chonburi, Thailand.
He also beat another Filipino Geboi Mansalayao by a 3rd round knockout in 2015 in Bangkok. Majoogen, however, lost his crown to Japanese Daigo Higa via a 7th round knockout in 2015 in Bangkok.
The 22-year old Majoogoen bounced back by winning all his next five fights including a 4th round knockout against Sakchai Rachjinda last July 15 in Chonburi, Thailand.
Bornea, on the other hand, won the vacant title via a UD against Cebu’s Raul Yu last February 26 in Gensan. He previously scored a 2nd round technical knockout on Nicardo Calamba last July 23 also in Gensan.
The IBF Youth super flyweight title fight is promoted by the Sanman Promotions headed by its Chief Executive Officer Jim Claude “JC” Manangquil.
It is co-promoted by the municipality of Polomolok under Mayor Honey Lumayag.
