Undefeated Jade “Hurricane” Bornea of Arakan, Cotabato stopped Mohammed Obbadi of Morocco in the 3rd round last January 14 at the Auditorio Jacales in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
Bornea first hit Obbadi with a solid right on the body then followed up with a left. Obbadi never recovered as he fell down.
It was Bornea’s 11th knockout and the 17th victory.
“Thank you Lord for the victory! At sa lahat ng sumuporta maraming salamat,” said the 26-year-old Borea.
Obbadi, 28, suffered his only second defeat against 22 wins.
Bornea is now the mandatory challenger for the IBF super flyweight world title of compatriot Jerwin “Pretty Boy” Acajas of Panabo City.
The 30-year-old Ancajas has been its title holder since 2016.
