Scholas Occurrentes is a dream that began in Buenos Aires, in 2001, thanks to Archbishop Jorge Bergoglio who went on to become Pope Francis, and it now encompasses one hundred and sixty five nations on all continents.
In Mexico since 2016, it promotes universal values with : Scholas Ciudadania, Scholas Art, FutVal (Soccer with values) and Box Val (Boxing with values).
Last Friday, August 3, 2018, in the boxing gym of the Deportivo Cuauhtémoc, facing City Hall, the BoxVal program in coordination with the World Boxing Council brought together a group of 20 boxing trainers to replicate and uniform this teaching methodology based on communion and teamwork.
The purpose of Box Val is to enrich the lives of children, youth and their environment through sports, emphasizing their essential values and sharing them with the community,” advised Hector Sulaiman Saldivar the President of the Scholas Advisory Board in Mexico.
During the workshop of sports trainers of the BoxVal program, the Argentine specialists in sports science Eduardo Gaona and Daniel Muñoz; taught and applied different strategies that allow trainers to promote companionship, commitment, effort, spirit of solidarity, respect and improvement.
“The BoxVal methodology can be adapted to each boxing club, combining with the traditional boxing exercises that are already used. The incorporation of this program will strengthen education with values, while also maintaining the technical and physical objectives that are sought with the usual practices “- Daniel Muñoz explained to Boxing Trainers of Mexico.
