On the night of April 1st, the Zocalo of Mexico City, hosting a massive and impressive boxing bonanza.
The Director of INDEPORTE, Horacio de la Vega, explained how important it is to promote sport in all areas, but especially to make Mexico City the epicenter of the best events.
He emphasized the enormous effort that the Mayor of Government of Mexico City, Doctor Miguel Angel Mancera has done to turn the city into the capital of sports.
Horacio de la Vega was enthusiastic, because he recognized the importance and the impact that this card will have at international level.
He also thanked the invaluable support that the WBC has always offered to Mexico City initiatives, through its President Mauricio Sulaimán.
The fights will begin at 5:00 pm, culminating with the clash between challenger Mariana “Barbie” Juárez and WBC bantamweight champion Catherine Phiri.
This card which is expected to have an attendance of 70 thousand people, will have several surprises including a well deserved tribute to the greatest glories of Mexican and world boxing, among them Don King, “Mantequilla” Napoles, Pipino Cuevas, Humberto “La Chiquita “González and Carlos Zárate.
The official press conference where all details will be announced will be on March 30 in led by Dr. Miguel Angel Mancera, Mauricio Sulaiman, promoter Don King and of course, the fighters themselves.
