Brad Scott is getting a home date after all.
After thinking that he’d missed out on his opportunity to fight at UFC Liverpool with the injury withdrawal of originally scheduled opponent Salim Touahri, Scott will fight in his native England when he meets Octagon newcomer Carlo Pedersoli Jr. at the Echo Arena on May 27.
Sources confirmed the bout with MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani following an initial report by MMAnytt.com.
Scott is a regular on the UFC’s England cards, most recently defeating Scott Askham in March of last year by split decision in London. The Ultimate Fighter: The Smashes finalist went on to lose his next fight at UFC Mexico City by first-round TKO to Jack Hermansson and he has alternated wins and losses in his last eight bouts. He missed out on an opportunity to fight in London again this past March when opponent Jack Marshman withdrew due to medical issues.
Pedersoli hails from Italy and sports a 10-1 professional record. In his last outing for the Cage Warriors promotion, he earned a split decision nod over former UFC fighter Nicolas Dalby.
