On Friday, June 9 in Bergen, Norway, Argentina’s Erica Anabella Farias will challenge welterweight champion and the best pound for pound of the moment, local Cecilia Braekhus.
Farias has been World Boxing Council super lightweight champion since 2014, when she defeated compatriot Alejandra Oliveras. She has successfully defended the belt on three occasions.
Braekhus, born in the city of Cartagena, Colombia and raised in Norway, has an impeccable record of 30 fights won with eight KOs. In her last fight she clearly defeated tough Swedish fighter Klara Svensson.
This Thursday was the official weigh in of the card and both warriors marked the following weight:
Cecilia Braekhus 146.6 lb (66,500 kg)
Erica Farias 146.1 lb (65,300 kg)
