BRAGA TO FIGHT FOR VACANT IBF PAN PACIFIC TITLE

CURRENT Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) featherweight champion Randy “The Master” Braga will fight Nathaniel May for the vacant IBF Pan Pacific featherweight title on April 8 at the Eaton Recreation Centre, Bunbury in Western Australia.
Braga, a native of Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur has a fight record of 20 wins, two losses, one draw with five knockouts.
He previously retained his PBF crown via a unanimous decision against challenger Landy Cris Leon last February 25 at the Elorde Sports Complex in Paranaque.

He also fought but lost in challenging Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) featherweight king Ryo Takenaka by a unanimous decision last October 13 at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.
The 29-year old Braga also had a chance to fight for the vacant International Boxing Organization (IBO) Inter-Continental featherweight title but lost by a split decision to Macbute Sinyabi on April 24, 2015 at the Orient Theatre in East London, Eastern Cape, South Africa.
May, on the other hand, scored a first round knockout against another Filipino Nathaniel Bolcio in his last fight held October 15 at the Eaton Recreation Center in Western Australia.
Last year, the 21-year old orthodox fighter on the IBF Australasian featherweight title via a 3rd round technical knockout on Paiboon Lorkham last May 7 in Perth.
He defended it successfully by stopping Cebuano Ciso Morales in the first round only last August 26 at the WA Italian Club.
May is also a WBA Oceania featherweight, WBO Asia Pacific Youth featherweight and WBO Asia Pacific Youth super featherweight champion.
May’s first Filipino victim was Roberto “Hands of Stone” Lerio of General Santos City who was beaten by a unanimous decision in 2014. His next Filipino opponent was Lloyd Jardeliza, who also got lost by a UD in their battle for the vacant WBO Asia Pacific Youth featherweight crown in 2015.
