MICHAEL “Chieftain” Bravo will now be facing Armando Yee of Gen. Santos City for the vacant Mindanao Professional Boxing Association (MinPROBA) light flyweight title on September 15 at the Panabo City Gym.
Yee (2W-10L-4D, 1 KO) is a substitute of Bravo’s original opponent Michael Camelion (8W-6L-1D), who got injured in training. Yee also fought but lost by a technical decision to Nicardo Calamba in their battle for the MinPROBA bantamweight title last year in Santa Josefa, Agusan. The fight was stopped due to a nasty cut caused by an accidental headbutt in the first round only.
In his last fight, Yee suffered a 1st round technical knockout to Michael Javier last October 15 in Pigkawayan, Cotabato.
Bravo (11W-1L-0D, 4 KOs) is now fighting under the MB Northstar Promotion with Engr. Jilson Basang as the promoter and Engr. Ricardo ‘Bong” Javier as the matchmaker.
Bravo has won all his last six fights, three of them by knockouts. He previously stopped Ian Ligutan via a 3rd round technical knockout last December 17 at the Robinson’s Place in Gen. Santos City.
The Bravo-Yee 8-rounder is one of the exciting events of “The Redemption: Clash of Champions” promotion by the MB Northstar Promotions. It is supported by the Panabo City Government, JBRJ Construction, PS Solutions of Ralph Peterson and Nature’s Spring Water.
